Marins is a promise.
Our company is named in honor of our founder’s beloved late mother, Sandy Breig. Sandy was known for her dual nature: tough as nails and sweet as sugar. A lifelong educator, union leader, and fearless negotiator, she was also a steady source of kindness, optimism, and unshakable support.
Her nickname was Mary Poppins—because she was exactly that: no-nonsense, deeply empathetic, and a little bit magical.
When it came time to name the company, we took the “MAR” from Mary and the “INS” from Poppins, creating Marins—a word that carries both softness and strength.
Starting this business meant stepping into the unknown, facing obstacles, and believing in something bigger. Naming it Marins was a way to carry Sandy’s spirit into every decision and every challenge. It’s a reminder to stay focused on the bigger picture. To keep showing up. To believe that life rewards the brave.
Marins is here to fight the good fight—for progress, for better solutions, and for the people we serve.
