La historia de Darryl
En 1990, con tan solo 19 años, la vida de Darryl DuBre cambió drásticamente en un instante. Trabajando en una obra, Darryl entró en contacto accidentalmente con un cable eléctrico de 7200 voltios, lo que le provocó la pérdida de un brazo y cambió para siempre el curso de su vida. En lugar de dejar que este momento lo definiera por sus limitaciones, Darryl eligió la resiliencia, la creatividad y la innovación.
Durante las décadas siguientes, Darryl convivió con las limitaciones y frustraciones de las prótesis basadas en tecnología centenaria. Aprendió rápidamente que lo disponible no estaba diseñado para vidas activas, vidas reales como la suya. Los dispositivos eran frágiles, carecían de funcionalidad o requerían reparaciones frecuentes, lo que hacía casi imposible que los amputados participaran con confianza y plenitud en las actividades cotidianas.
